Attended the 1st day of Sikkim Legislative Assembly for the 3rd budget session of 2015-16. I paid homage to Late Shri Loden Tshering Lepcha and Late Shri Balchand Sarda former members of SLA and suggested to rename a road in North Sikkim in honour of Late Loden Tshering Lepcha. I presented the Annual Budget for the Financial Year 2015-16, amounting to Rs. 5669.97 crore, comprising Rs. 2900.49 crore under Plan and Rs. 2769.48 crore under Non-Plan Account. I also introduced the Sikkim Online Gaming (Regulation) Amendment Bill.

Joined Hon’ble Governor Shri Shriniwas Patil in welcoming and congratulating the first batch of Kailash Mansarovar yatris through Nathula Pass on their successful completion of the journey at a function held at Raj Bhavan. Was happy to present mementoes to all the pilgrims and interact with them.
I joined Hon’ble Governor Shri Shriniwas Patil in observing the State’s unique calender event towards protection and preservation of the environment -“10 Minutes to Earth”. To mark the event, we planted saplings at VIP Colony premises. On the occasion, I also launched a book entitled “Sikkim Paryavaran Mahotsav 2014, A Brief Report“. I hope my fellow Sikkimese from all walks of life also participated in the plantation drive as done every year.
I met Chinese Ambassador H.E. Mr Le Yucheng along with his 4 officials at Mintokgang today. In a brief meeting, His Excellency was pleased to refer to the improving relations between India and China and the recent fruitful visit of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to China. As part of Operation Maitri of Government of India, I flagged off Rescue and Relief Operations team headed by Secretary, Land Revenue and Disaster Management Department carrying relief materials for the earthquake victims in Nepal from Government of Sikkim. The relief materials will be directly handed over to the authorities in Nepal. I thank the Government employees, Ministers, MLAs and all those who have generously contributed for the relief.
