  • Chief Minister’s Comprehensive Annual and Total Checkups for Healthy Sikkim (CATCH)-Started in 2010, it aims to provide comprehensive health care on an annual and periodical basis. Though the primary focus on is annual health checkup based on the epidemiological ethics of “no survey without service”, attempt is also made to provide comprehensive health care (promotive, preventive and curative). This is done by taking detail medical history, through physical check-up, screening of major health problems, laboratory findings and discussion with the policy maker for formulating further plan of action.

    CATCH Programme envisions to work towards making Sikkim a healthy state, As of now, a total of 5,52,767 population has been covered with 12,83,466 lab investigation and with 1,30,723 Health Cards distributed.

  • Mukhya Mantri Jeewan Raksha Kosh – Under this scheme all Sikkimese people are entitled to cash/ cash less treatment benefit of up to Rs. three lakhs. Government employees are entitled for reimbursement upto Rs 2 lakhs and Rs. 5 lakhs in some serious cases stipulated under norms. Till 2014, all Government employees and their dependents were entitled for 100% free medical treatment. RS. 25,000/- travelling allowance for BPL family who are referred for treatment outside the state.

  • Tuberculosis (TB) -free Sikkim by 2022 – To eradicate TB, the State Government has decided to implement the following: – i) Grant of 3,000/- per month as financial assistance to TB patients for consuming nutritional food. ii) Rs. 1000/- will be provided to those who inform/report any case of TB. iii)  Rs. 5 lakhs cash award for Gram Panchayat Unit (GPU) and Rs.10 lakhs for Zilla Panchayat for becoming the first TB- free GPU and Zilla Panchayat.
  • As an incentive to have more than one child, the State Government has taken a policy decision to provide for financial grant of Rs 7,000/- and Rs 10,000/- after first and second baby respectively. In addition, Rs 300/ per month is granted for ensuring nutritional food for babies till the age of 6 years.
