Began the New Year, 2018 by paying a visit to STNM Hospital yesterday, wherein I met around 300 patients. In my one-to-one interaction with them, I extended my New Year greetings, and also apprised them about our policy of referring patients outside the State, along with grant of financial aid. Assuring them of not only Government assistance but also my personal support at all times, I also urged them to stay strong-mentally and psychologically- during their time of ailment.

Similarly, today, during my visit to the Central Referral Hospital Manipal, I met and interacted with around 200 patients. I offered my best wishes for the New Year and wished them speedy recovery.

I consider human life to be the most precious and therefore, human life should be valued above everything else. My love and respect for all human beings stems from this belief, and I will go to all extents to protect and save any life. Hence, I wanted to start the New Year by being of some help and solace to the sick and the needy. During my interaction with the patients in the Hospitals in the last two days, I met them not as the Chief Minister but as a fellow human being. I must say that whenever I help people in any way, I do it without any kind of expectations in return. It is my sheer love and respect for humanity that propels me to give selfless service and endless love to my fellow beings.

Looking forward to a healthy and happy 2018 for all!
